Half-baked

It started out rather promising.
I was on time, early, on time, passed my practicals, filled my days with activity, joy and companionship.
I was elated.
Beaming with self-pride even.
I walked with a confident swagger.
I talked half-cocky, half full of myself.

But things slowly came to a head.
That promising start petered out into another half-baked attempt of self-improvement.
I once again filled my days languishing in the pits of regrets, of what could have been and what should hv been.

It's slowly becoming familiar.
It is contemptuous.
It is threatening to be routine.
It sucks.

Routine is something we can change.
