Pratamania

I heard something through the grapevine, and it was none too

pleasant at all.

Innovians, bade farewell to our beloved prata as rumour has it

the School Management has decided to pull off those sumptious

Indian pancakes of the shelves of Stall No.2.

And throught the same grapevine, I heard it's because of its

overwhelming popularity with the intellectuals there, that has

ironically caused its unfortunate downfall.

It seems that other stallholders have expressed their grievances

over Missus Prata's success and have spoken to the higher authorities.

And under the guise of it being unhealthy, students, or rather

intellectuals would have eaten their last prata.

Now you tell me.

Soda is healthy?

Ice cream is encouraged to be consumed daily by nutritionists?

Condensed milk is highly beneficial?

After suffering the torment of eating boneful chicken rice,

frikkin oily mee, tasteless soups and ludicrously extravagant

prices, the inception of prata was a welcomed change.

Students started eating.

Teachers stopped going to Banquet at Vista Point.

And the number of latecomers dwindled mysteriously.

Okay, maybe that wasnt because of the prata.

Fact is, we love prata.

What more homemade ones.

And after being let down by the "5-star cuisine" in school

time and time again, prata has to go?

Now if you're thinking how petty and upset one can get over

a flat Singaporean delicacy, now tell me which country

has its elections revolving around lift upgrading and some

minority report.

Gimme a break.

And gimme back my prata.
