(Caution: Only for those fans who religiously follow soccer
and not those who get the fever once every 4 years :) )
Let's get away from all the hype surrounding the 16 nations
through to the 2nd round.
Let's get back to our bread and butter.
The Premiership.
I am disappointed to say the least.
None of the Man U players are making huge waves in
Germany. Zilch. Yeah, Ruud might have score, Ronnie
did blast the penalty into the net and Park had scrambled
one past Barthez(of all people).
But no one, has created such a stir as to warrant a
full-length coverage on their background, playing style,
rise to fame etc.
Much was expected of Roon and Ron but both are yet to
prove why they're the top two young players in the globe.
Even then, Sir Alex havent made any purchase whatsoever
to bolster the ManU squad for the forthcoming season.
Names have been mentioned.
Price tags have been hinted.
But as of 24 June, no parades of new signings yet.
From Torres to Mascherano, from Ribery to Diarra;
certainly their prices will skyrocket after the World
Cup.
On the other hand, the main rivals, the other three of
The Premiership's Big Four have made bold and
significant strides in the transfer market.
Arsenal managed another steal, having securing the
prodigious talent of Czech Tomas Rosicky even before
the World Cup started, at a bargain price of 7mil.
Liverpool made the smartest of purchase with the
signing of Craig Bellamy.
A player well underrated but is certainly worth more
than the 6mil Pool splashed out on him.
And Chelski.
They bought Sheva, Ballacks and rising stars John Obi-
Mikel and Salomon Kalou.
Goddammit Sir Alex, let us make some quality signings at
bargain prices man.
Get a new midfield engine.
Get whoever to rival the flair of Arsenal, the guile of Pool
and the efficiency of Chelski.
C'mon ManU!
