->berr: Hahaha. Cannot lahr. Soccer IS my education.

And so I finally removed the bush that was disguising as my hair

perched on my head. As lovers and those-loved streamed into

LT1 to catch the latest production of the IJC Musicians' Club,

"Love Under the Stars", I trudged wearily home not before having

that bush snipped.

Futsal was high on the agenda yesterday as Putra enlisted me as

one of his team-mates for a competition held at NUS by the

Muslim Society there.

Met new peeps who were Put's acquaintances and found them to

be really humble, and extremely sociable.

Our squad, Bras Basah Fried Chicken (FC), was a glowing tribute to

SMU located, yeah you guessed right, at Bras Basah.

1st match was against a tandem called the Little Mermaids.

And we banished them 20,000 leagues under the sea with

an emphatic 3-nil win, the 1st highest scoring match with other

matches only producing 1-nil results.

We faced,er, this team in red and fought to a goalles conclusion

with yours truly bending the crossbar with a curling effort.

We really should have won with the opportunities we created

and their attack which we dispelled almost effortlessly.

3rd match pitted us against last year's champs Mountbatten.

Their star player terrorised our defence but we kept our

composure and managed to keep them at bay. The unfancied us

even managed a whole lotta efforts on goal only to be denied

by their custodian. Toughest match of the day which ended 0-0.

So Mountbatten and BBFC were through to the Q.Finals.

After a 10min rest, the Q Finals kicked off with us facing

The Silat Boys. They were more like rugby boys as I was hacked

down at each and every opportunity. My strike partner, Farhan,

was decimated in various occasions too. At one point I was

scrummed not by 1 guy but by 4 but the ref waved play on.

Asshole of the highest order!

Once again, it ended in a stalemate and it was down to penalties.

Our phenomenal keeper, who has yet to concede a goal,

produced another stunning save from the opposition's penalty

kick. Our rock-solid last man, Khai, duly finished off the tie with

a vicious shot into the top right to send us into the Semis.

Evidently, heaven was not on our side as it started to pour, as if

mourning the Silat Boys' loss.

The final call: Pathetic.

Organisers decided it was too much of a risk to play in a drizzle,

even when the rain had whittled down to a mere drizzle.

They based their prizes on points collected and we were unjustly

left in the lurch.

Conned aptly described how we felt.

No matter what, it was a tremendous showing by Bras basah FC

seeing that it was our very first time playing with each other and

knowing each others' names.

Now gimme 1 clap.

Gimme 2 claps.

Gimme 11 claps.

BRAS BASAH!
